I think there's still time to apply for the NUT LGBT conference in Brighton on Sat 18 Oct. Local NUT divisions/associations usually pay travel expenses and registration fees.

A residential weekend conference in Brighton for teachers who   are lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans.

Applications from heterosexual teachers who want to campaign to stop discrimination of teachers on the grounds of sexual orientation, homophobic and transphobic prejudice are welcome.

Delegates who are NUT members, and who identify as LGBT, will be able to participate in debates about which motion (on equality for LGBT teachers) should be selected by the conference on 18th October as one of the motions for consideration at NUT Annual Conference 2009 in Cardiff.

There will be a reception and dinner on Friday night included in the conference fee.
