The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has published Young People: Leading Change in which the Government pledges £6 million over the next three years to unlock the talent of young leaders so that more young people are able to champion local and national issues and to become positive role models for their communities.

The Children’s Rights Director for England has published a report – Children on Bullying – which has collected over 300 responses from children and young people of their experiences with bullying.

Parents should lose their right to withdraw children from sex education classes, say teachers. A survey of 2,000 staff found two thirds of primary teachers thought sex education should be compulsory.
