This position is offered by a successful, culturally diverse local authority with a well- established and respected Inclusion Development Unit. The authority wishes to appoint a Gender Equality Officer to be responsible for co-ordinating gender equality training in schools and services and be involved in overseeing the strategic direction of gender equality.

The right candidate will have substantial experience of working with children and young people and working in a range of educational establishments and organisations.

They will be a qualified teacher and:

* An excellent practitioner
* Self-motivated
* Able to demonstrate and disseminate good practice in raising the achievement of all pupils
* Experience in delivering training
* Able to liaise effectively with colleagues and local authority services
* Conversant with recent legislation on gender equality
